Protection across state lines?
If an LLC is formed in CT, would the LLC be able to conduct business across state lines (e.g., internet, sell in other states) without risk of having the company veil pierced? Have the LLC laws been tested adequately?
Answer
The corporate veil is not in any risk by participating in interstate commerce.
In terms of LLC laws being tested, some large, publicly traded) are LLCs...for example Chrysler and AOL.
AOL, for example, would not have changed from a corporation to an LLC in 2005 if it didn't think the LLC laws were sufficiently test.
